Troy B. Kechely is a Montana author who specializes in historical fiction novels, short stories, and educational material for law enforcement and animal control officers. He has work appearing in Dog & Kennel Magazine and various dog rescue newsletters and websites. His debut novel, Stranger’s Dance, was completed in 2014 and published in 2015. In 2017 he published his second novel, Lost Horse Park. He is also the author of Management of Aggressive Canines for Law Enforcement, a guide for law enforcement officers on reading and reacting safely with domesticated canines which sold internationally but is no longer in print. With attention to detailed research, Troy writes the best historical fiction he can with the intent of taking readers to another place and time.


When he is not writing, he’s is most likely teaching classes on canine behavior through Think Dog Consulting, as well as serving on the board of Big Sky Rottweiler Rescue, a non-profit, multi state group that he founded in 1997. In his spare time he is out with his own rescued Rottweiler exploring the beauty of the Montana countryside.
